The British Embassy in Berne brings together expertise from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, the Department for International Trade, Scottish Development International and the UK Science & Innovation Network. The teams work together to further UK prosperity efforts through identifying and facilitating mutually beneficial Swiss – UK science and economic partnerships. With Switzerland being the leading global innovator, the Embassy has a key role in supporting the delivery of COP26 hosted by the UK in 2021 by bringing together actors from both countries, to drive and finance innovative solutions for global decarbonisation.

Swisspower is the strategic alliance of 21 Swiss municipal utilities and regional utility sector companies. With their Energy Future Masterplan, alliance partners have committed to working toward a viable and sustainable energy system featuring improved energy efficiency, decarbonisation and increased renewable energy. Members of the alliance carry out joint projects that allow them to reinforce their competitive standing.
